Album Pol Raxa (zatytułowany po prostu Pol Rax) z nagraniami artysty z lat 2000-2010, w tym z ultraprzebojowym „Dla Ciebie”, to electro-petarda, która po prostu musiała trafić na winyl!
Wydawcy, czyli The Very Polish Cut Outs i Superkasety Records, wybrali wspólnie z artystą 8 utworów nagranych w pierwszej dekadzie nowego milenium - część z nich ukazuje się po raz pierwszy, inne doczekały się dotychczas jedynie wydań cyfrowych (nakładem Seek Records), a tylko „Dla Ciebie” wyszło wcześniej na CD (za sprawą znanego francuskiego labetu Kitsuné). Przez długi czas pojedyncze kawałki Pol Raxa dostępne były wyłącznie na YouTube, a sam pochodzący z Wrocławia artysta po wydaniu tych nielicznych tracków odstawił syntezatory na bok i odsunął się w cień. Wtedy właśnie narodziła się - jak to trafnie ujął Eltron - „legenda”. „Dla Ciebie” i inne utwory zyskiwały popularność na Youtube, Artur Boruc zatańczył nawet w rytm Pol Raxa #borucdance a klubowe parkiety rozgrzewały się do czerwoności od kawałków takich jak „Rock Your Video” czy „Za Późno”. Ta płyta, w całości zagrana i zaśpiewana przez Pol Raxa i nielicznych gości, to nie tylko electro bangery na dyskotekę. To także ambitny (synth)pop, który zdecydowanie zasługuje na to, by często lecieć w radiu. Na płycie znajdują się przeboje, ale jest też zmysłowe „Gorąco” z gościnnym udziałem Julee, czy melancholijne „Zatrzymać się”. Sam Pol Rax wśród swoich inspiracji (dla muzyki, ale też dla tekstów, które pisze) wymienia m.in. nową falę lat 80, surowy pop wczesnego Bajmu czy syntezatorowe brzmienie Dwa Plus Jeden. Te źródła doskonale słychać w jego muzyce, ale jest też coś jeszcze - czasami odrobina french touchu w duchu Daft Punk, innym razem minimal wave czy boogie funk. Jest różnorodnie, ale mimo to bardzo spójnie, a całej płyty doskonale słucha się od deski do deski. To jednak też muzyka klubowa i z myślą o takim przeznaczeniu - oprócz samego albumu, który wyjdzie na klasycznym czarnym krążku 12” - wydawcy proponują też dziesięciocalowy singiel. W tym rzadko spotykanym dzisiaj formacie (co samo w sobie stanowi rarytas) otrzymamy „Dla Ciebie” w wersji klubowej i „Zatrzymać się” w remixie Eltrona, który to utwór także ukazuje się po latach po raz pierwszy. Singiel jest w kolorze różowym, a jego edycja jest limitowana do 300 sztuk. Warto mieć na półce (i w kejsie!).

Pol Rax's album (simply titled Pol Rax) with the artist's recordings from the years 2000-2010, including the ultra-hit "Dla Ciebie", is an electro-banger that simply had to be put on vinyl! The publishers, i.e. The Very Polish Cut Outs and Superkasety Records, have chosen, together with the artist, 8 tracks recorded in the first decade of the new millennium - some of them are released for the first time, others have so far lived to see only digital editions (by Seek Records), and only "Dla Ciebie" was released earlier on CD (by the famous French label Kitsuné). For a long time single tracks of Pol Rax were available only on YouTube, and after releasing those few tracks mentioned before, the artist from Wroclaw put the synthesizers aside and retreated into the shadows. It was then that - as Eltron aptly put it - "a legend" was born. "Dla Ciebie" and other tracks were gaining popularity on Youtube, famous polish footballer Artur Boruc even danced to the rhythm of Pol Rax's #borucdance and club dance floors were heating up with tracks like "Rock Your Video" and "Za Późno". This album, played and sung entirely by Pol Rax and a few guests, is not only electro bangers for the disco. It's also ambitious (synth)pop that definitely deserves to be played often on the radio. There are some hits on the album, but there's also the sensual "Gorąco" with guest appearance by Julee, or the melancholic "Zatrzymać się". Pol Rax himself mentions among his inspirations (for the music, but also for the lyrics he writes) the new wave of the 80s, the raw pop of early Bajm or the synth sound of Dwa Plus One. These sources can be perfectly heard in his music, but there is also something else - sometimes a bit of French touch in the spirit of Daft Punk, other times minimal wave or boogie funk. It is diverse, but nevertheless very coherent, and the whole album is perfect to listen to from cover to cover. However, this is also club music and with that in mind - apart from the album itself, which will be released on a classic 12" black disc - the publishers are also offering a ten-inch single. In this format, rarely seen today (which is a rarity in itself), we get "Dla Ciebie" in the club version and "Zatrzymać się" in Eltron's remix, which also appears for the first time after many years. The single comes in pink and is limited to 300 copies. Well worth having on your shelf (and in your dj case!).
The release is set for June 2022.

The first track is a bit of an outlier, perhaps connecting back to earlier albums where jazz foundations lead the way, before going all out berserk with the beats, beats, and beats. Bass and electronics are now the mainstays over the hip-hop influenced rhythms. But the horns are still layered back in with style. I initially passed this over, but the Szlam / Ścieki tracks blew my socks off and in desperation for more, I was led back to this. I can't wait to see where Błoto go next. rvss.eel
